We will meet in Wausau on Thursday night at one of Wausau's unique restaurants. It will be a great
way to start out this inviting tour!
On Friday Morning, we will leave Wausau and take one of the scenic routes through the towns of
Tomahawk, Phillips, Hayward and Bayfield.
Friday night, we will find ourselves in Bayfield Wisconsin. Located on the shores of Lake
Superior, Bayfield calls itself the gateway to the apostle islands. Bayfield was honored when the
Chicago Tribune called it the “Best Little Town in the Midwest”. Saturday morning, we
start riding southeast, through the towns of Ashland, Boulder Junction, Star Lake,
and St. Germain. Each of these towns has its own unique Northern Wisconsin hometown personality.
We will spend Saturday night in Minocqua, name derived from the Indian
word “Ninocqua”, meaning noon day rest. The Indians used to rest on the Island of
Minocqua on their journeys. Once there, you will soon understand why. |
